2025년 유엔 69회 여성지위위원회(CSW) 패러렐 이벤트
<전시성폭력과 초국적 여성운동>
2025년은 1995년 9월 제4차 세계 여성대회에서 베이징 선언 및 행동 강령이 채택된 지 30주년이 되는 해입니다. 일본군‘위안부’ 피해자들의 증언과 국제 시민들의 꾸준한 연대는 베이징 선언 및 행동 강령을 포함해, 분쟁하 성폭력에 관한 UN, ILO 등 국제기구의 권고와 선언에 큰 영향을 미쳤습니다. 베이징 선언 및 행동 강령은 분쟁 상황에서 강제 성매매, 조직적인 강간, 성노예제, 모든 형태의 성적 학대가 국제법을 위반한 전쟁범죄이자 반인도적 범죄 및 학살에 해당한다고 명확히 규정했습니다. 또한, 철저한 진상규명과 가해자 처벌, 피해자에 대한 완전한 구제 조치와 재발 방지의 필요성을 강조했습니다.
그러나 30년이 지난 지금, 세계 곳곳에는 전쟁과 분쟁이 고조되고 있습니다. 이에 정의기억연대는 3월 20일(목) 한국시간 오전 8시 30분 일본군성노예제 문제 해결을 위한 초국적 여성 연대의 역사를 되짚고, 베이징 선언 및 행동 강령 30년 이후의 상황을 점검하는 <전시성폭력과 초국적 여성운동> 2025년 유엔 69회 여성지위위원회(CSW) 패러렐 이벤트를 개최하고자 합니다.

“Wartime Sexual Violence and Transnational Feminism Movement”
In 2025, the global community will mark the thirtieth anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women and the adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (1995). The testimonies of the victims of the Japanese military “comfort women” and the steady solidarity of international citizens have had a significant impact on the recommendations and declarations of international organizations, including the UN and ILO, on sexual violence in conflict, including the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. It clearly states that in conflict, forced prostitution, systematic rape, sexual slavery, and all forms of sexual abuse are war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide that violate international law. It also emphasizes the need for thorough investigations, punishment of the perpetrators, full redress for victims/survivors, and prevention of recurrence.
However, 30 years later, war and conflict are intensifying around the world. In response, on March 20, Thur, 8:30 a (KST), the Korean Council for Justice and Remembrance for the Issues of Military Sexual Slavery by Japan(the Korean Council) will hold a parallel event for the CSW 69, “Wartime Sexual Violence and Transnational Feminism Movement” to reflect the history of transnational women’s solidarity to resolve the Japanese military sexual slavery and examine the 30 years after the Bejing declaration.
