The 13th International Memorial Day for the Japanese Military “Comfort Women”
✨ Our Hope Ignites in Your Light ✨

14 August marks the International Memorial Day for the Japanese Military “Comfort Women,” a day to honor the courage of countless victims, including Kim Hak-Soon, who was the first to publicly testify about her experience.

This year, in commemoration of the 13th International Memorial Day for the Japanese Military “Comfort Women”, the Korean Council is organising various events under the theme “Our Hope Ignites in Your Light.”

The victims who bravely shared the truth about the Japanese military sexual slavery have become an enduring light. Their testimony opposes war, fosters mutual care, and continues to spark hope by lighting the way toward a more peaceful and just world.

Please join the International Memorial Day

for Japanese Military “Comfort Women’ Global Action!

We are promoting various events held by civic organisations in Korea and abroad under the banner of the “14 August International Memorial Day for Japanese Military “Comfort Women’ Global Action.”
Participating organizations will also be introduced as co-hosting groups at Wednesday Demonstration for the International Memorial Day for Japanese Military “Comfort Women” to be held on 13 August.
