In October, the Palestine Women Trauma Healing Center conducted 17 field visits/workshops, 10 legal counseling, and 9 psychological counseling. This year, through field visits by activists, the center has become an integral part of local women's lives. Also, on October 15, the center was officially licensed as an organization. The women of Gaza, who received emergency support from the Butterfly Fund in August, continue their small handicraft business. The embroidered keyrings are called "Returning Home."

The activists in Palestine are in great danger. In October, while we were organizing an online meeting, we couldn't reach one of the local activists, and everyone was nervous. An hour later, she contacted us to say that she could come to the center over the mountains because soldiers were not letting her through the checkpoint between districts. Soldiers are blocking the checkpoint, preventing Palestinians from accessing essential services such as hospitals and government offices. At night, soldiers roam the streets, firing indiscriminately at any movement and forcibly entering and searching homes. One of the videos we received was of a Palestinian civilian woman being taken away and assaulted by soldiers.

“Freedom comes with suffering.” the local Palestinian activists said in the meeting, and they repeatedly asked us to make their voices heard by activists, supporters, and citizens worldwide. In the face of occupation, war, violence against minorities, and violence against women, the activists at the Palestinian Trauma Healing Center are fiercely resisting.

The Korean Council stands in solidarity with the Palestinian Women's Trauma Healing Center through the Butterfly Fund and supports the struggle of Palestinian women, citizens and their complete liberation from river to sea.
