[Press Conference] "Beyond the Night of Insurrection, Towards the Spring of Korea!"

The Korean Council is participated in the Immediate Resignation of Yoon Suk-Yeol, Emergency Action for Major Social Reform (the Emergency Action) as a solidarity. On January 2nd morning, the Emergency Action held the New Year’s press conference, under the title ‘Beyond the Night of Insurrection, Towards the Spring of Korea!’. Chairperson Lee Na-Young and activists from the Korean Council participated in the event.

All roads leading to the Office of the President of the Republic of Korea were already surrounded by crowds chanting “Impeachment Now” and police forces protecting them. Press conference participants stood firm, declaring that each individual represented a thousand voices.

As the December 3rd South Korea’s Martial Law Crisis remains unresolved, Korea has entered the new Eulsa Year still in crisis. Although the court has issued an arrest warrant for Yoon Suk-yeol on charges of insurrection, he refuses to comply. Meanwhile, the acting president selectively appoints constitutional judges, and the ruling People Power Party, complicit in the insurrection, remains obsessed with shielding Yoon.

During the press conference, participants promised to join forces with the people to dispel the dark shadows of insurrection, ensure Yoon Suk-yeol’s arrest and removal, and push forward with urgent social reforms. They declared their commitment to building a society where sovereignty truly belongs to the people and where everyone can live with dignity and security.

The Korean Council stands firm in its pledge: Yoon Suk-yeol, the destroyer of democracy, must be removed and held accountable without delay, in accordance with the will of the people.
