The Korean Council Sends a Solidarity to Protect the Statue of Peace in Stintino!

Italy's first Statue of Peace was installed on June 22nd in Stintino, Sardegna.

However, the Japanese government and historical denialists send hundreds of emails and parcels demanding the demolition of the Statue of Peace.

The Korean Embassy in Italy has requested its position several times, but it has not received a reply.

The Korean Council organised a 'Let's Protect the Statue of Peace in Stintino!' letter-writing campaign to show support for the protection of the Statue of Peace in Stintino. The Korean Council sent letters, messages of appreciation, and encouragement for the installation of the Statue of Peace - written by surviving victim Lee Yong-Soo and 11 members of the National Assembly of Korea 11 members of the National Assembly of Korea,  and the signed petitions form the Korea Women's Rally in 2025 which commemorates International Women's Day to Stintino. In May, the parcel arrived in Stintino successfully, and local officers showed appreciation to the Korean Council.

The Statue of Peace in Stintino will remain an open space dedicated to women's rights and peace.
