26th Seoul Queer Culture Festival

On June 14, the Korean Council joined the 26th Seoul Queer Culture Festival (SQCF), standing in solidarity under the flag of “The Korean Council: Queers and Allies.” The festival, held annually since 2000, aims to create a space where people of diverse identities—regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity—can come together in equal and joyful celebration.

The SQCF is a large-scale, public cultural event held every summer in Seoul. It began in 2000 as “Queer Culture Festival – Rainbow 2000” and has evolved through various names, ultimately adopting the title “Seoul Queer Culture Festival” in 2018. Its major events include the Seoul Queer Parade and the Korea Queer Film Festival, along with a wide array of other programs during the festival period.

The theme of the 2025 SQCF was “We Never Stop.” This slogan reflects the festival’s unwavering spirit and commitment to continuing, no matter the challenges, just as it has for over two decades. The Korean Council proudly marched alongside the festival, sending our solidarity and support to its ongoing journey.
