On October 26, at 18:34, in front of Seoul City Hall, the Korean Council joined the 2nd year of the 10.29 Itaewon Disaster Memorial Rally. There was a pre-march from 13:59 before the rally. The citizens could resonate together while listening to various memorial performances and speeches by political parties, survivors, and bereaved families.
Unlike last year, all political parties joined the rally to send condolences to the bereaved family and guarantee non-recurrence. Thanks to the enormous efforts of the bereaved families, survivors, and civil society, the Committee of Special Investigation was finally established. Politicians of all parties promised that they would fully cooperate with the committee. The family of the late Grace Rached visited Korea. They shared the memories of her.
The Korean Council will stand in solidarity with every victims/survivors of 10.29 Itaewon Disaster. The government must fully cooperate with the committee, for justice, truth,reparation and gurantee of non-recurrence.
