From June 3 to 5, PALS(Pacific Amphibious Leaders Symposium) Seoul 2024 was held in front of the Lotte Hotel in Seoul. PALS is the Indo-Pacific landing force symposium, and it is intended to prepare for war. The Marine Corps Headquarters ROK and the U.S. Marine Corps Forces Pacific co-hosted the symposium. More than 30 countries attended it, including Australia, the U.K., and the Philippines. The meeting included the first public visit by a high-ranked general from the Japanese Self-Defense Force to Korea and bilateral talks between Korea and Japan. Currently, Japanese amphibious forces are conducting island recapture drills, which are not different from attack units. While Japan claims to be defensive, its actions, including the public display of its ambition to take over Dokdo island, raise concerns about its true intentions.
On June 3, the Korean Council and Civil Solidarity for Historical Justice and Peaceful Relationship between Korea and Japan held an urgent press conference in front of the Lottel Hotel opposing the PALS meeting, which accelerated Korea-Japan military cooperation, Korea-the U.S-Japan military alliance and condoned Japan's rearmament. We cannot tolerate the first visit of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces to the Korean Peninsula, which is aimed at re-invading, without any repentance for the past.
