She endured the experiences of being a victim of the Japanese military sexual slavery in a foreign country. After the liberation in 1945, she was unable to find her way back home and ended up settling there. Many years later, she was finally able to return to her home.
On September 7, 2024, she passed away without ever receiving an official apology from the Japanese government.
