These phones were then symbolically smashed, expressing collective anger against Telegram deepfake sexual violence and calling for the dismantling of toxic online male culture and a stand against sexual violence. The group later marched through the Gwanghwamun area for around 40 minutes, delivering a strong warning against deepfake sexual violence on Telegram.
The Korean Council activists recognizes that the current deepfake issue is directly connected to the sexual violence and exploitation faced by women, much like the Japanese military sexual slavery in the past.
