
The 1,733rd Wednesday Demonstration was held as the final Wednesday demonstration of 2025, commemorating the victims of Japanese military sexual slavery who passed away this year.
The demonstration began with a performance of “Like a Rock” by activists from the Korean Council. Followed by the introduction and commemoration of the late Gil Won-ok and Lee Ok-seon, who passed away this year, a moment of silence was observed in their memory.

A tribute message sent from Japan by Ms. Yang Jing-ja, who had worked tirelessly in Japan to resolve the issue and had a long-standing connection with Gil Won-ok halmoni, was read by Dodam. Hong Eun-mi delivered a commemorative speech in memory of Lee Ok-seon halmoni.


A memorial dance was performed by Oh Se-ran, titled "An Unfinished Song," in remembrance of the two halmoni.


Additional commemorative speeches followed. Kim Saem shared the memory with Gil Won-ok halmoni. Ahn Byung-hoon, who had been close to Lee Ok-seon halmoni as both a family member and a friend, sent a commemorative message from China, which was read by Boka.

The second memorial performance concluded the event, with Gamja, an activist from the Korean Council, singing the song “Sangsa-hwa”.
