The second lecture of the Special Exhibition “Peace Be With You,” titled “ One Day Leaves Will Bloom: Painting Kim Bok-dong’s Legacy,” was led by artist Kim Ji-Hyun, who published a book that extends Kim Bok-dong's artwork.
Kim Ji-Hyun was inspired to publish the book “One Day Leaves Will Bloom on Bare Trees” after seeing Kim Bok-dong's paintings at the 2019 special exhibition at the War and Women's Human Rights Museum.
During the lecture, she shared her background in writing the book, her emotional experiences, and the process of following Kim Bok-dong's emotions through her artwork. At the end of the lecture, the Korean Council activist Kim Dong-Hee hosted a book talk, providing an emotional moment where participants shared their feelings. Additionally, the surprise signing event was held after the lecture.
