Since 2021, the Butterfly Fund has been flying to Palestine to provide regular support to the Women’s Trauma Healing Center. The Trauma Healing Center is affiliated with its parent organization, the Women Support Center. Made up of local activists, the Center provides psychological and legal counseling services to women facing the dual hardships of Israeli occupation and genocide, as well as violence against women within Palestine. It also stands at the forefront of efforts for the liberation of Palestine and the advancement of women’s human rights.

In March, in observance of International Women’s Day, the Center carried out various activities to promote women’s rights and strengthen psychological and legal support. It participated in an International Women’s Day solidarity event in Nablus, expressing support for Palestinian women prisoners, and worked with local communities and civil society organizations to advocate for women’s human rights.

A legal specialist held a legal awareness-raising workshop for women in Balata Refugee Camp, deepening their understanding of procedures for responding to gender-based violence, applying for protection orders, and women’s legal rights. A psychological specialist provided continued support through field visits and counseling for women experiencing psychological stress caused by gender-based violence, domestic violence, war, and displacement. In particular, the Center has continued psychological support and social solidarity activities for women from Gaza, women family members of prisoners, and women in vulnerable situations.
